Former Arsenal and Barcelona defender takes charge of Balkan state's fortunes

Sylvinho has decided on his squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, with a number of familiar names included.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona left-back Sylvinho has named his Albania squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, with a number of familiar names included.

The Balkan nation will be hoping to make an impact at the tournament, having failed to qualify for the last two editions. They have been drawn in Group C, alongside Italy, England, Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta.

Sylvinho has opted for a blend of youth and experience in his squad, with a number of players who have been capped at senior level. The squad includes a number of players who ply their trade in major European leagues, such as Lazio’s Elseid Hysaj, Atalanta’s Berat Djimsiti and Napoli’s Amir Rrahmani.

Albania will begin their qualifying campaign on March 27th, when they take on Malta at the Air Albania Stadium in Tirana. They will then face Italy in Naples on March 31st, before travelling to Pristina to face Kosovo on June 10th.

The Euro 2024 finals will be held in Germany from June 14th to July 14th, 2024.

Conclusion:

Albania will be hoping to make an impact at Euro 2024, having failed to qualify for the last two editions. They have a talented squad with a good mix of youth and experience, and will be hoping to cause an upset in Group C.
